While the field of transitional justice has gained reputable traction over the years, the absence of media strategies in many transitional justice processes is quiet perceptible in Africa. Transitional justice mechanisms including, prosecutions, reparations, truth commissions and institutional reforms require a means of how these efforts are framed for various audiences and how media could provide an opportunity and viable spaces to address past wrongs and define a new future for any post conflict state. At DESOC Consultancy, we seek to fill this gap by exploring diverse ways in which transitional justice actors might consider the role of media in peace-building processes and reconstruction of conflict-ridden countries across Africa.
